Feeding Committee

Dear Esteemed Members of the Feeding Committee,

One of the greatest fears of any family organising a funeral is a simple but weighty question: 'Will there be enough?'

Enough food. Enough hands. Enough organisation. Enough provision for everyone who comes.

Because of your commitment and hard work, that question was answered with a resounding 'Yes.'

As the Ndambi Family reflects on the celebration of the life of our beloved husband, father and brother, Pa Ndambi Paul Angemba, we cannot speak about its success without remembering the extraordinary ministry of this committee.

From the very first planning meetings, you embraced an assignment that grew larger with every passing day. Meals had to be coordinated for the family during the preparation period. The Wake Keep required careful planning. Burial Day demanded even greater organisation. There were special provisions for pastors, dedicated arrangements for chewables, backup food in case attendance exceeded expectations and countless details that many guests never knew existed.

When a large male cow was procured from the cattle market, it was not merely the purchase of an animal. It represented the beginning of an enormous responsibility. There was sourcing, transportation, preparation, preservation and coordination, all of which had to happen seamlessly.

We are deeply grateful to Mumi Ndambi Bea and family, whose generous sponsorship of the Wake Keep feeding became a tremendous blessing to everyone present. We equally appreciate the many individuals and families who supplied raw food from different locations, while additional provisions were carefully sourced from Bamenda and Tad Market. Watching so many people contribute reminded us that love is often expressed through willing hands and open hearts.

The partnership with Service Traiteur services was another remarkable success. Preparing meals for over six hundred guests required precision and excellence. Beyond that, the remaining visitors were thoughtfully received and adequately catered for within their various family and community houses spread around the quarter in neighbours' houses. Although attendance grew beyond our expectations, with well over 1,200 people joining us, not a single moment reflected panic or confusion.

There was food. There was some level of order, though not perfect. There was dignity. Most importantly, there was generosity.

One moment that touched us deeply was seeing that, even after everyone had been served, there was still enough to appreciate those who had spent long hours cooking. It was a beautiful reminder that God not only provides sufficiently, He provides abundantly.

Many people remember the speeches, the music and the ceremonies. Others will remember the conversations shared around a meal, the warm plates that were served after long hours of travel, the refreshments that renewed strength and the fellowship that naturally grew wherever people gathered to eat. You helped create those memories.

You transformed food into hospitality. You transformed hospitality into fellowship. You transformed fellowship into comfort for a grieving family.

For every early morning, every late night, every pot stirred, every fire tended, every journey to the market, every decision made under pressure and every unseen act of service, we simply say: thank you.

May the God who fed thousands with a few loaves and fishes reward your labour abundantly. May He replenish your homes with peace, provision and joy. May He bless your families with overflowing abundance, and may no act of kindness you have shown ever go unnoticed before Him.
