Drinks Committee

Dear Esteemed Members of the Drinks Committee,

With hearts filled with sincere gratitude, the Ndambi Family wishes to express our deepest appreciation to each one of you for the incredible service you rendered during the celebration of the life of our beloved husband, father and brother, Pa Ndambi Paul Angemba.

Your assignment may have been described simply as 'Drinks,' but we know that what you carried was much bigger than planning, mobilizing and ensuring the supply of drinks. You carried the responsibility of hospitality. You helped create an atmosphere where every guest, visitor, relative and friend felt welcomed, valued and cared for.

From the daily activities leading up to the funeral, through the Wake Service and finally the Burial Day, you ensured that refreshments were available consistently. Whether people needed water, soft drinks, cans, white mimbo, local beers, imported beverages or other refreshments, this committee made sure there was no shortage.

This was not a small responsibility.

With family members travelling from far and wide, and with attendance exceeding expectations from about 1,000 expected guests to over 1,200 people present, the pressure on your committee could have easily become overwhelming. Yet, you handled procurement smoothly, planned ahead and ensured that the needs of the occasion were met with excellence.

Many people enjoyed the drinks that were available, but fewer people saw the coordination behind it all: the conversations, the sourcing, the counting, the movement, the storage, the monitoring and the after-event management. Those practical details may not have been visible to everyone, but they were essential to the success of the entire programme.

We especially appreciate the calm way your committee operated. Even after the major activities were completed, you handled the remaining responsibilities with maturity and order. Your work did not end when people stopped watching; you ensured proper management until everything was settled.

Because of your commitment, guests were able to participate freely, interact joyfully and celebrate our father's life without unnecessary concern. You contributed to the warm atmosphere that remained throughout the Wake Keep, which continued until almost 2:00 a.m., as people gathered in unity, love and remembrance.

Thank you for every hour invested, every decision made, every resource managed and every sacrifice offered. Thank you for serving with humility and dedication.

May the Lord reward your generosity and commitment. May He replenish everything you spent, strengthen your families, bless the work of your hands and continue to use you as people who bring joy and comfort to others.

The Ndambi Family will always remember your contribution as part of the team that helped us honour our beloved husband, father and brother, Pa Ndambi Paul Angemba, with dignity, excellence and love.
